What is Sketch Club?

We are an artistic global collective of artist that have all drawn in one of the many sketch club book. These books all start with the first artist drawing on the first page then creativly showing off the work  through photography.  Also taking a few photos of the book in cool locations showing who the artist is.These books are on a journey. to where who really knows. They are titles after the artist's location that the book started with. After the first artist is finished the book is passed to another artist. This artist can be a friend of the first artist, or some one who has signed up on the members page. Most important that the artst chosen understands that he must also follow the rules of sketch club. This process repeated until the book is complete. 

 

What are the Rules of Sketch Club?

 

 

1st rule:  You do not talk about  sketch club.

 

2nd Rule:  Ok Forget that first rule. Talk as much as you like about this club.

 

3rd rule: If given this book, draw, paint, illustrate or create on the next page spread in this book.

 

4th rule: Do not damage previous art or future art pages.

 

5th rule: Join sketch club on facebook www.facebook.com/sketchbookclub and here on the website.

 

6th rule: Make sure you write your name legibly so all can read it in the book.

 

7th rule: While you have the book, make sure to document with photos. Take pictures of your work in progress, your finished work, take photos of the book in your studio, place the book  in cool loctions around town and shot some photos, and dont forget to shot photos of yourself with the book. Also you could shot the hand off these photos always are really cool.  sent the photos to the facebook page and we will post them.

 

8th rule:  Please try and get your work done in a timely manner. A good rule of thumb would be 1 week. Please the longer you have it the longer it takes to get this finished. this dosent mean rush to get it done. We want quaility work as well.

 

9th rule: Pass this book on to an artist you trust to follow these  rules and keep this book moving. This is most important. Make them sign up on this website if you can so we can all track these books.

 

10th rule: Once this book is finished, contact Sketch Club on  facebook via message for free return shipping  instructions. So we can proceed to get these books made into published editions.

 

Published?

 

Correct we will turn every book we get back into a published work. You will as one of the artist get a share of the profits that are generated from the book sales. So sign up by clicking the sign up tab.

 

 

 

 

This project is not a new idea i have seen it done hundreds of times in the past. But not like this. We all stand to profit from this process. I t is still only an experiment and no one knows if these books will return to us at this point but that is in your hands. You are the artist and you are handing off the books to be worked on. I will contunie sculpt this club in hopes that one day we will all benifit!
